When it comes to driveways they need to be tough and simple. We used only 4 types of plants. We did this to create the feeling of space as the more plants you use the more the eye gets pulled about. Simple yet effective planting makes this short drive seem longer than it really is.

One side we used Pyrus calleryana "aristocrat" (Ornamental Pear) to give height and structure. Underplanting with pink diosma will create a wispy border that is structural as well as producing flowers. This a great alternative from the usual English box that is very old fashioned now.

On the other side we planted Ficus Hilli that eventually will be shaped around the windows to provided shade from the hot north sun and privacy for the homeowner. The whole garden is tied together by the underplanting of the pink diosma.
